MARY H. MALPASS

Mary Elizabeth Hill Malpass, 86, of Kirkwood Retirement Community, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Mrs. Malpass was born in Greene County to the late Marion Grimsley Hill and Lucy Bell Taylor Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Thomas Woodrow Malpass; and two sons, Ronald Lee Malpass and Ray Vernon Malpass. Mrs. Malpass was a member of LaGrange First Free Will Baptist Church and was a retired sales associate, having worked at Belk and Elite Fashions.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, from Rouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ronnie Hobgood officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery.
Mrs. Malpass is survived by three children and a son-in-law, Kay Williams of Greensboro, Gene Malpass of Goldsboro and Marietta and Bobby Winston of LaGrange; sister, Grace Gwaltney of Goldsboro; brother, Blaney Hill of Goldsboro; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
