MOUNT OLIVE -- Frances Southerland Kraft, 84, of 104 Jurney St., died Monday evening at SunBridge Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday from the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home with Dr. Dennis Atwood officiating. Following the service, the family will receive friends at the funeral home, and at other times, at the home. Committal and burial will be on Saturday at 10 a.m. in Maplewood Cemetery, Mount Olive.
Mrs. Kraft, a Duplin County native, was the daughter of the late Charles and Annie Best Southerland. In addition to her parents, a brother, Charles Southerland, and a sister, Dorothy Southerland, preceded her in death. She was an award-winning photographic oil portrait artist having been associated for many years with the family business, Kraft's Studio. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Olive where she had been very active. She enjoyed golf and sailing, and had traveled extensively in both the United States and in Europe.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Charles Kraft of the home; two sons, Buddy Kraft and his wife, Janet, of Woodbridge, Va., and Rick Kraft and his wife, Debbie, of Calypso; and three granddaughters, Corey K. Gildener, Kimberly Gerasch and Jennifer Cool; and three great-grandchildren.
