THELMA B. JOYNER

NEWTON GROVE -- Thelma Bradford Joyner, 88, passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007. Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Maggie Bradford and was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Joyner; a son, Glenn Joyner; and brothers, Thurman and James Bradford. A dedicated member of Jordan's Chapel Baptist Church, she was an avid quilter.
Funeral services will be held Saturday evening at 6 p.m. at Jordan's Chapel Baptist Church with the Revs. Ray Smeltzer, Ronnie Bradford and Frank Sandy officiating. Family members will greet friends Saturday evening immediately following the service at the church and at other times will be a the home of her daughter, Lena and George Strickland, 2358 Selah Church Road, Four Oaks, N.C. 27524. Graveside services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Jordan's Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Thelma is survived by three daughters; Lena Strickland and her husband, George, Edna Jackson and her husband Luby, Linda Daughtry and her husband, Ed; three sons, V.J. Joyner and his wife, Patsy, Delma Joyner and his wife, Gail, and Kent Joyner; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Gerald Bradford.
