VIVIAN E. BRITTINGHAM

May 19, 1926-Nov. 2, 2007

Vivian Earl Brittingham, died Friday at Kitty Askins in Goldsboro. She was born in Craven County to the late Curnel Hunter and Helen Mae White and was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Robert E. Brittingham; and a brother, Richard Wilton White.

Ms. Brittingham is survived by two sisters, Louise Ricks of Dover and Elizabeth Quinn and husband, Thurston, of Seven Springs; and one brother, Durwood White and wife, Barbara, of Comfort. She was also loved by many nieces and nephews and special friend, Earl Prevette.

She lived in Virginia Beach, Va., most of her adult years where she worked and retired as a buyer for Rices Nachmans. She relocated to Atlantic Beach, N.C., in 1998 and due to illness spent the last eight years at the Pines of Goldsboro. There she made many friends and became affectionately known as "Lordy, Lordy." She was very outgoing and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her favorite pastime was boating and spending time at the beach. Throughout her life she offered many encouraging words and was always ready to help those in need.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007, at the Dover United Methodist Church, Main Street, Dover, N.C. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pines of Goldsboro or your favorite charity or church.
