CHARLIE B. JONES

QUARTZ HILL, Calif. -- Charlie Bee Jones, 73, passed away on Oct. 25, 2007. He was born March 24, 1934, in Wayne County to the late Mark and Pearl Pearsall Jones.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Edward K. Jones. Charlie graduated from Nahunta High School in Wayne County in 1952 and attended N.C. State University. He served his country for five years with the U.S. Army. He was an electrical engineer with Lockheed Martin and lived in Germany for 17 years. His career also carried him to Canada, England, Thailand and Greenland.
Survivors include his wife, Matilde M. Jones, of the home; daughter, Christine Jones of California; sons, Mark Jones and Greg Jones, both of California; grandson, Jessie Jones of California; and sister, Rosella Jones Wetherington of Kinston.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, at Howard-Carter Funeral Home and other times at the home of his sister, 1151 Rose's Lane, Kinston. Funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Rick Vernon officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
