Deacon William Alexander Mitchell Sr., 70, of 3670 Thoroughfare Rd., died Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Deacon Mitchell will be eulogized at 11 a.m. Monday at the Greater St. John F.W.B. Church by his son, the Rev. Dr. William A. Mitchell Jr. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Mitchell.
Mr. Mitchell is survived by his daughters, Sandra Mitchell Bizzell, of the home, Judy Frazelle Mojica of Clayton and Lenora Mitchell, Pastor Juanita Mitchell Whitfield, Barbara Mitchell Rogers and Pamela Young, all of Goldsboro; sons, the Rev. Dr. William A. Mitchell Jr., Malcon Keith Mitchell of Goldsboro, Timothy Earl Mitchell of Atlanta, Ga.; 26 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries of Goldsboro. The family will receive friends at the residence. Deacon Mitchell's remains will lie in state at the church Monday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour.
