FRANCES M. KEEN

SALISBURY -- Frances Malpass Keen, 74, died Wednesday at her home. Born in Goldsboro, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ethel Haire Malpass. Mrs. Keen was educated in the Goldsboro schools and graduated from Goldsboro High School.
She was employed by Rowan County Schools and was a secretary at North Rowan Middle School before retiring.
Mrs. Keen was a member of Milford Hills Baptist Church and the Harvesters Sunday school class.
Survivors include her husband, H. B. Keen Jr. whom she married May 16, 1954; sons, Henry B. Keen III and wife, Adell, of Weddington, Matt Keen and wife, Ruth, of Raleigh, Jimmy Keen and wife, Renee, of Sanford; sisters, Mary Emma Williford of Goldsboro and Linda Rose of Smithfield; brothers, James Malpass of Goldsboro and Lee Malpass of Asheboro; and to her grandchildren, Nicole, Pippi, Marion, Holden and Charles Keen, she was beloved "Granny."
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday at Milford Hills Baptist Church with the Rev. Clyde Yates officiating. Interment will follow at City Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Summersett Funeral Home and at other times the family will be at the residence.
