LAGRANGE -- Kevin Brooks Herring, 23, died Wednesday in Virginia. Brooks graduated from North Lenoir High School and East Carolina University with a degree in industrial distribution. While attending ECU, Brooks was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Brooks was a member of LaGrange Christian Church and was working with Neff Rental Company. He was well-known for his love of people and willingness to help others.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, at 11 a.m. from Rouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gerald Stacy officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Brooks is survived by his parents, Eddie and Myra Sutton Herring; brother, Matt Herring and wife, Misty, and their daughter, Mallory Grace of Greenville; paternal grandmother, Audrey S. Herring of La Grange. Brooks was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Edward M. Herring; and maternal grandparents, Kirby and Grace Sutton.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, and at other times, they will be at the home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rousefh.com.
