HUBERT T. "PEANUT" JONES

Hubert T. "Peanut" Jones, 71, of 572 Overman Road, died Sunday at his residence. He was born in Wayne County to the late Kermit S. and Dollie Mae Newell Jones and was married to Margie Mooring Jones. Mr. Jones was retired from Cherry Hospital with 371/2 years of service in the Maintenance Depart-ment. A charter member of Thoroughfare Volunteer Fire Department, he attended Providence United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Providence United Methodist Church. The Rev. Tony McLamb will be officiating. Burial will follow at Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by a son, Hubert Sidney Jones.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Alice and Greg Jones of Goldsboro; two brothers, George Jones and Leo Jones, both of Goldsboro; one sister, Dorothy Mitchell of Goldsboro; and three grandchildren, Karen Jones, Heather Jones and Hannah Marie Jones.
The family will be receiving friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Providence United Methodist Church and at other times will be at the home.
