CALYPSO -- Eudell Strickland Odom, 78, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday at her home at 227 E. Church St., Calypso.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Cricket Ridge Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church where she was a member. The Rev. Mrs. Juanita Hollowell will be officiating. Burial will be in Calypso Cemetery.
She was the daughter of the late Nathan Wesley Strickland and Bell Howell Strickland, the widow of Lorenzo Carl "Shag" Odom, and the sister of the late William E. Strickland, Oscar L. Strickland, Paul Strickland, Annie Caulder and Ethel Wall.
She is survived by a son, Carl Odom of Calypso; three daughters, Lillie B. Odom Robertson of Mount Olive, Linda Gayle O. Ponce and Gladys Faye O. McDonald, both of Dudley; a sister, Carrie S. Outlaw of Seven Springs; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three best friends, Della Lewis, Helen Harper, and Irene Tyndall.
The family will be receiving friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. on Thursday at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, and at other times at her residence.
