EDNA S. LANGSTON
FREMONT-- Edna Sykes Langston, 79, of 3338 Big Daddy's Road, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, at her home.
Funeral services will be held tonight at 7 p.m. at Faro Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church. The Rev. Joe Strouse will officiate. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Eureka Cemetery.
Mrs. Langston was born in Wayne County on Jan. 20, 1928, to the late Harvey and Bessie Sykes. She was a faithful member of Faro Chapel P.F.W.B. Church for more than 50 years.
She is survived by a son, Jerry Dwight Langston and his wife, Kimberly, of Goldsboro; three daughters, Dolly Creech and her husband, Ronnie, Edna Woodruff and her husband, Ernest, and Annette Hurdle and her husband, Harold, all of Wilson; a brother, Ralph Sykes of Virginia; a sister, Pauline Stocks of Pikeville; five grandchildren; one step-grandchild; two great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Langston was preceded in death by her husband, Dillard Langston, and a son, Dillard Ray Langston.
The family will receive friends following the funeral service at the church and at other times at the residence.
