WILLIAM F. SETTLE

William Franklin Settle Jr., 76, of Eustis, Fla., passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007.
He was born to the late William F. Settle Sr. and Ruth Simpson Settle on Dec. 26, 1930, in Roanoke, Va. He moved from Beaverton, Ore., to Central Florida in 1995.
William Franklin Settle Jr. was known simply as "Frank" by all who had the pleasure of calling him a friend and a loved one. A 22-and-a-half year veteran of the Air Force, Frank traveled the world spending time in no less than 21 countries, 17 islands and the North Pole. Following his retirement from the military and a brief stint in radio and voice over work, where he provided one of the famous voices of the Jolly Green Giant no less, Frank became a pioneer in the cable TV system industry. Retiring in 1995, Frank settled in Eustis to finally enjoy the quiet tranquility that eluded him for all the years of his full and highly accomplished life.
William was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Kim Settle.
He is survived by his significant other, Marie Benlock; three sons, Kevin Settle, Cirk Settle and Ky Settle; a sister, Sally Modlin; nine grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday Aug. 19, 2007, from 6-8 p.m. at the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home Mount Dora Chapel.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home Mount Dora Chapel. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Eustis, Fla.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted for William F. Settle Medical Scholarship fund, 19142 Park Place Blvd., Eustis, Fla. 32736.
