ALASKA R. STANLEY

Alaska Ray Stanley, 58, of 323 Lancaster Road, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. from the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro. Harvey Jacobs will officiate.
Mr. Stanley was born in Duplin County on Feb. 9, 1949, to Elnora Stanley of Pink Hill and the late Benjamin Stanley. He was employed with Seymour Johnson Air Force Base as a Civil Service housing inspector for more than 20 years and was a Vietnam veteran of the United States Army.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Stanley leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Susie G. Stanley; three sons, Tremonteo Ray Stanley of Iraq, DeCarlos Orlando Stanley of Durham and Cedric Jules Stanley of Iraq; one daughter and son-in-law, Mirranda Stanley and Gary Jones of Wendell; and seven grandchildren.
The family will receive friends following the service on Sunday at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
