ALGONQUIN, ILL. -- Olga Frances Knaus Hepfinger, 84, passed away Monday at Centegra Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry.
She was born in Traunk, Mich., the daughter of Max and Frances Laurich Knaus. She was a graduate of Eben High School, Eben, Mich., in 1940. She moved to Elgin, Ill., af-ter graduation and was em-ployed at the Elgin National Watch Com-pany where she met her husband, Ed, who she had been married to for 62 years.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Al-gonquin. She enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of her bridge club for over 40 years. She and Ed enjoyed traveling, visiting friends and relatives all over the world in-cluding Slovenia and Yugo-slavia, the home of her parents.
Surviving are her loving husband, Ed; four children, Penny Ritt and husband, Ken, of Goldsboro, N.C., Mike Hep-finger and wife, Connie, of Carbondale, Colo., Jim Hep-finger and wife, Eliza, of Herndon, Va., Terri Radek and husband, Chester, of Downers Grove, Ill.; 10 grandchildren, Gerrit, Kevin, Emma, Andrea, Lisa, Mikey, Eric, Derek, Nicole and Melissa; three sisters, Mary Brown of Schwartz Creek, Mich., Alvina Boye of Fort Myers Beach, Fla., and Betty Hakanen of Chatam, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews she visited as often as possible in Michigan and Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Tillie Breyman; and one brother, Frank Knaus.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, 2007, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Algonquin, with the Rev. William Stroup officiating. Burial will be in Algonquin Cemetery. Visita-tion will be held on Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Wait Ross Allanson Funeral and Crema-tion Services Chapel, 201 S. Main St., Algonquin, Ill., and Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services in the church.
