LAGRANGE -- Inez Garris Butts, 83, of 490 N. Beston Road, died Thursday at her home. Mrs. Butts was born in Wayne County to the late Fletcher Parker Garris and Mertie Garris. She was wife of the late Clifton Earl Butts and was a member of Walnut Creek Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 4, 2007 at 7 p.m. from Rouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony McLamb officiating. Interment will be Sunday at 2 p.m. from Fairview Cemetery.
Mrs. Butts is survived by a son, Donnie M. Butts and wife, Ann Gray Butts, of LaGrange; two daughters, Emily B. Toelke and husband, Bob Toelke, of Camden, S.C., and Becky B. Strickland of Goldsboro; brother, Ralph M. Garris of LaGrange; sister, Beatrice G. Barfield of Goldsboro; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Butts was preceded in death by three sisters, Luna G. Lane, Bessie G. Coker and Ruby G. Ward; and a brother, Wesley Garris.
