Joseph "Jody" Lynn Raynor, age 35, of 200 Massey St., died Friday from injuries sustained in a work-related accident in Galveston, Texas. He was born in Duplin County and was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Thursday evening at 7 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Martin Armstrong officiating. Graveside services will be held Friday morning at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. Raynor is survived by his father and stepmother, Jimmy and Eloise Raynor of Beulaville, N.C.; his mother and stepfather, Ruby "Shorty" and Roger Lewis of Goldsboro, N.C.; three brothers, Anthony "Tony" Raynor of Durham, N.C., Jimmy Lee Raynor of Beulaville, N.C., Jason Lewis of Goldsboro, N.C.; and four sisters, Chanda Newsome of Eureka, N.C., Cindy Lewis of Goldsboro, N.C., Deanna Cundiff of Charlotte, N.C., and Renee McGee of Beulaville, N.C.
Family members will greet friends Thursday night immediately following the funeral service at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times will be at the homes of his parents.
