MOUNT OLIVE -- Rachel Barwick King, 78, died Sunday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Services will be at 7 p.m. tonight at Tyndall Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Hill and the Rev. Jimmy Swinson officiating. Visitation will follow the service, and at other times, the family will receive friends at the Roy and Rose Beavers home at 938 Norwood Ezzell Road, Mount Olive. Committal and burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Maplewood Cemetery.
Mrs. King was the widow of Arthur King and was daughter of the late Roy Bland Barwick and Emma Herring Barwick. She was a member of Rones Chapel United Methodist Church and had been employed with Young Squire Industries for as long as it was in operation, after which she was associated with several local floral shops until her retirement.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Rose K. and Roy Beavers of Mount Olive; a son and daughter-in-law, Buddy and Lynn King of Kenly; grandchildren, Leigh B. Best and husband, Wade, Andy Beavers and wife, Billie Jo, and Josh King; eight great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, Roy Sasser Jr. and wife, Tammy, and Crystal Fields and husband, Kelly; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Roy and Laura Barwick of Warsaw, and Ray Barwick of Surf City; a special aunt, Reba Warrick of Goldsboro; other sisters-in-law, Hilda Barwick Sanders of High Point, and Edith S. Smith and friend, Eddie Coltren of Mount Olive; a brother-in-law, Bobby Stith and wife, Alice, of Topsail Beach; and many dear friends.
