FRANK NEWCOMB
June 5, 1950-July 4, 2007
PIKEVILLE -- George Franklin "Frank" Newcomb, 57, of 1648 Antioch Road, died suddenly on Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Frank was born in Wayne County to Inez L. Newcomb of Dudley and the late Glenn Hoover Newcomb. He was the former owner and operator of Newcomb's Cabinet Shop. An avid fisherman and race car fan, Frank was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints in Goldsboro.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel. Bishop Steve Briggs will preside. Interment will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
In addition to his mother, Frank is survived by his wife of 37 years, Deborah Waters Newcomb; his son, Eric Newcomb and wife, Jennifer, of Goldsboro; his daughter, Melissa N. Wall and husband, Greg, of Pikeville; his brothers, Milford Glenn Newcomb and wife, Gaynelle, of Goldsboro and Billy Gary Newcomb and wife, Deana, of Princeton; his sisters, Glenda Kay Newcomb of Goldsboro and Phyllis N. Hargrove and husband, Dell, of Goldsboro; and his grandchildren, Jordan Newcomb, Taylor Newcomb, Avery Newcomb, Christina Snipes, Ashley Snipes, Kari Wall and Josh Wall.
The family will receive friends Friday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home.
