Deacon Robert Lee Cox Sr., 83, 143 Friendly Drive, died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Homegoing service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Bear Creek Missionary Baptist Association Head-quarters, 1800 S. Slocumb St., with the Rev. Leslie Capers officiating. Burial will follow in Barnes Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Annie Mae Braswell Cox of the home; daughters, Annie Cox Dawson of Dudley and Evangelist Lonice Cox Holland of Goldsboro; sons, Lawrence Cox, Randy Cox, John Cox, all of Goldsboro, Donald Cox of Raleigh, Ronald Cox of Knightdale, Kenneth Cox of Fuquay Varina, Linwood Cox and Teddie Cox, both of the home, Freddie Cox of Charlotte and Eddie Cox of Smithfield; sister, Helen M. Hintz of Columbus, Ga.; 22 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 5:30 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries, 900 S. George St.
The family will receive friends during the wake Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at St. Joseph F.W.B. Church, 280 Claridge Nursery Road, Goldsboro.
