LOUISE T. WEEKS

MOUNT OLIVE -- Louise Thigpen Weeks, 84, died Wednesday. She was daughter of the late Willie and Ethel Smith Weeks and widow of the late Melvin Weeks.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday in the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Watkins and the Rev. Bill Hooper officiating. Burial will be in Calypso Cemetery.
She is survived by two sons, Ray Weeks and wife, Sandra, of Grantham and Melvin B. Weeks and wife, Elleze, of Goldsboro; five daughters, Joyce Gardner and husband, Jimmy, of Calypso, Glenda Rowe of Princeton, Annette Sutton of Goldsboro, Mattie Thompson and husband, Richard, of Goldsboro, and Sue Brill and husband, Tony, of Holly Ridge; one sister, Kathleen Garris and husband, Jack, of Goldsboro; 23 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by brothers, Rodney, Demion, Marvin, and Billy Weeks, and sisters, Ruth Hudson, Naomi McCullen and Inez Harrell.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. At other times, they will be at the home of Jimmy and Joyce Gardner, 508 Edwina Kornegay Road, Mount Olive.
