Funeral services for Brother James William Yelverton is scheduled for Saturday, June 9, 2007, at 3 p.m. at St. Luke Church of Christ. The burial will follow in the Old Mill Cemetery at which military rites will be performed by the U.S. Army. Elder David Williams will officiate, and Minister Michael Yelverton will deliver the eulogy.
Brother Yelverton leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Evangelist Annie Yelverton of the home; four sons, Mr. Jimmy Yelverton of Garner, the Rev. LeRoy Williams of Brunswick, Ga., Minister Michael Yelverton of Goldsboro and Mr. Ralph Walter Jr. of Goldsboro; four daughters, Mrs. Camilla Holmes of New York, Mrs. Janice Wooten of the home, Mrs. Myra Drawhorn of Goldsboro and Mrs. Janet Reid of Charlotte, N.C.; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Wilhemia Best of Maryland; and two aunts, Mrs. Willie Mae Lawson of Richmond, Va., and Mrs. Bessie Carmichael of Goldsboro; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
