JASON CLEVELAND THOMPSON

Jason Cleveland Thompson, 28, of 1694 Davis Mill Road, Fremont, died Saturday as a result of a four-wheeler accident.
A native of Wayne County, he was the son of Cleve and Sharon Strickland Thompson of Fremont and the husband of Crystal Holland Thompson of Fremont. Mr. Thompson was the owner of Thompson Transport.
Jason was devoted to his family and lived life to the fullest. He loved the beach, his mud truck, and spending time with his family.
Funeral will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph United Methodist Church in Pikeville with the Rev. Brian Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in the Pikeville Cemetery.
He is also survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Thigpen and son, Christian Boykin, both of the home; a brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Kristen Thompson of Raleigh; maternal grandmother, Myrtle Strickland of Fremont; paternal grandmother, Wilma Thompson of Pikeville; his aunt and uncle, Bonnie and Gerald Cannon of Pikeville; and his beloved dog, Lady.
Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Arnold Strickland; paternal grandfather, G.C. Thompson; and his uncle, Tim Strickland.
Flowers are welcome, though memorials may be made to St. Joseph United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 43, Pikeville, N.C. 27863.
The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service and at other times at the home of his parents, 951 Hwy. 222 W., Fremont.
