GREENVILLE -- Irene Summers, 63, of 1938 Tara Court, Unit 201, Greenville, N.C., died Monday, May 21, 2007 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville, N.C.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 27, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, LaGrange, N.C. Burial will be in LaGrange Cemetery.
She was born in Lenoir County to the late Harvey Summers and Aletha Graham Summers. She attended Central High School and graduated from Frink High School in LaGrange, N.C. After graduation, she made her home in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., where she was employed at Broward County Library for 17 years.
She is survived by one son, Steven Ray Summers; one daughter, Margaret Renee White of Atlanta, Ga.; four brothers, Lindbergh Summers and Jimmy Summers of LaGrange, N.C., Harvey Summers Jr. of Huntington, N.Y. and Elvis Summers of Greensboro, N.C.; three sisters, Retha Summers of Greenville, N.C., Beverly Body and Aletha Britt of LaGrange, N.C.; three grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
The family will receive friends at the home, 1938 Tara Court, Unit 201, Greenville, N.C.
