Van Donald Kepley Sr., 69, of Albermarle died Friday at his home.
Funeral will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Main Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Rorie officiating.
Visitation will be Monday after the service in the fellowship hall of the church.
Mr. Keply was born in Stanly County to the late John Henry and Louise Virginia Rexler Kepley. He graduated from Endy School in 1955, and was an avid, award-winning go-cart enthusiast and an expert water skier. He was a long-time member of Main Street United Methodist Church in Albermarle. He was very active in the Albermarle Jaycees and served as president. Van owned and operated Kepley Upholstery in Albemarle and later managed a sewing plant with the North Carolina Dept. of Corrections Enterprise Program.
Mr. Keply was the husband of the late Martha Burris Kepley, and the father of a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Louise Kepley of Yorktown, Va.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Kevin Hopkins of Raleigh, Kelly and Jim Backman of Charlotte, and Kristen and Scott Groseclose of Columbia, S.C.
In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by six grandchildren, Alex Hopkins, Mike Hopkins, Margaret Kepley, Caroline Kepley, Meredith Kepley and Lauren Groseclose; and a brother and sister-in-law, Vernon and Claudette Chandler Kepley of Goldsboro.
