Emmitt Isler, 86, of 417 S. Slocumb St., died Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at his residence.
The Wayne County native was the son of the late John W. and Della Uzzell Isler. In addition, preceding him in death was his late wife, Pauline Jones Isler, and three brothers, Earnest, John Wesley and Gleno Isler.
He was the proud father of two sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael D. Isler and wife, Cindy, of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Broderick Isler, formerly of Goldsboro, N.C.
Others survivors, in addition to his sons, include two grandchildren, Derrick and Crystal Isler; two sisters, Della Lee McCullough and Elouise Battle, both of Goldsboro, N.C.; one brother and two sisters-in-laws, Wilbert Isler and wife, Mary, and Margaret Jones, all of Goldsboro, N.C.; extended family, Dessie Loftin and husband, Neal, and the Rev. and Mrs. David Lee Brown, all of Goldsboro, N.C.; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends and neighbors.
Funeral services will be 12 noon Saturday, May 12, 2007 at Hamilton Funeral Chapel in Goldsboro, with Bishop Michael D. Isler officiating. Visitation will be 1-6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Old Mill Cemetery.
