Dorothy Vick Jones, 79, of 407 W. Ash St., Goldsboro, N.C. went to be with the Lord Monday at her residence.
The Wayne County native was the daughter of the late Charlie and Louisa Vick.
She was the wife of Robert Jones Jr. She was the proud mother of one son and daughter-in-law, Leroy and Gertrude Evans; six daughters and three son-in-laws, Jerelene Williams, Judy DeMerritt, Sadie Watson and husband, Ernest, Margetta Jones, Benita Jones and husband, Terry, and Chakita Perry and husband, Rodney; 23 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mark Church of Christ in Goldsboro, with Bishop Alton A. Smith officiating. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m., with the family present to receive family and friends from 6-7 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, Goldsboro. Burial will be in the Forte Cemetery.
