RICHARD D. PITTS
March 4, 1937 - May 6, 2007
DUDLEY -- Richard Delmar "Dick" Pitts, 70, of 301 Brandy Drive, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Pitts was born in Minneapolis, Kan., to the late Hershel "Dick" Pitts and Ethel Iris Serrault Pitts. He was a retired manager for a mobile home park and for several years served as Santa Claus at Berkeley Mall. Mr. Pitts served 18 1/2 years in the U.S. Air Force and had served in Vietnam. He had also worked for 15 years with Franklin Baking Company.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Rose officiating.
Mr. Pitts is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lurah F. Pitts; his daughters, Ottie Mae Mendez and husband, Eddie, of California, Judy Hill and husband, Morris, of Kinston, Lola McCammon of Goldsboro and Ethel Foss and husband, Michael, of Dudley; his sons, Oliver Pitts and Jerry Pitts, both of Dudley; his sisters, Radonna Stein of Salina, Kan., and Sylvia Susie Stenfors of Bennington, Kan.; his brothers, Jim Pitts of Lindsborg, Kan., and Jerry Lee Pitts, of Minneapolis, Kan.; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service at Seymour Funeral Home.
