JERRY CORBIN

LA GRANGE -- Gerald Ray "Jerry" Corbin, 68, 309 Forest Drive, died Sunday, at Lenoir Memorial Hospital. Jerry was born in Abbott, Texas, to Clara Faye Gandy of Hawkins, Texas, and the late Maurice Corbin. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sgt. where he served during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. Jerry was a member of La Grange Christian Church and was a retired construction manager with Wooten Oil Company. A loving and devoted family man, Jerry had a great love of golf.
A service of remembrance will be 11 a.m. Wednesday from Rouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Gerald Stacy and the Rev. Dexter Wasson officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
In addition to his mother, Jerry is survived by his wife of 37 years, Naomi Creech Corbin; four children, Sharon Corbin Falls of Greenville, Robert Tyson Corbin of Fort Myers, Fla., Ronald Thomas Corbin and wife, Donna, of Hookerton, and Gerald Scott Corbin and wife, Leigh, of Greenville; brother, James Corbin of Gilmer, Texas, two sisters, LaJuan Hickey of Hawkins, Texas, and Valda Stafford of Crawford, Texas; uncle, Donald Pendergrass of Tyler, Texas; seven grandchildren, Amber Johnson, Lisa Ibrahim, Heather Corbin, Rayna Corbin, Robyn Corbin, Jacob Corbin and Jason Corbin; three great-grandchildren, Hannah Johnson, Jadyn Ibrahim and Jada Corbin.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home and at other times they will be at the home.
