Neta Best Johnson, 76, of the Grantham Community, died Wednesday at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation for Mount Olive.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Wayne County to the late Thomas Ayden and Sudie Stevens Best. She was married to the late Oscar L. Johnson Sr.
The family will gather Friday at 2 p.m. at the home of her sister, Toby, for a memorial service and to receive friends prior to the service. Graveside services will be 3:30 p.m. in the Best Family Cemetery, with the Rev. Patrick Muston officiating.
She is survived by her son, Cecil Haley Johnson of Fayetteville; sisters, Octavia Jewell "Toby" Whitman of Grantham, Janice Duvall of Goldsboro, Jean Newcomb of Jacksonville and JoAnn Ball of Mount Olive; brothers, Dallas Ayden and Bobby Graves Best of Mount Olive; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made in her memory to Cecil Johnson, 484 Rock Hill Road, Fayetteville, N.C. 28312.
