Services for Thomas Battle Jr. will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Lightner Memorial Funeral Chapel, 601 E. Ash St., with Pastor Ray Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline D. Battle of the home; eight daughters, Annie Battle, Erica Battle, Jeanette Battle, Johnice Bryant, Thomasena Thompson, Daphene Battle, Thelma Mewborn and Bertha Battle, all of Goldsboro; 10 sisters, Ruby Outlaw, Diane Bynum, Maggie Monk, Edna Whitfield, Teresa Faison and Sherry Lee, all of Goldsboro, Shirley Williams of New York, Joyce Crawford and Wilimina Malone, both of Washington D.C., and Clarisa Crawford of Maryland; three brothers, Willie Crawford, Jerry Crawford and Emanuel Battle, all of Goldsboro; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at 1713 S. Slocumb St. A viewing will be held Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Lightner Memorial Funeral Home.
