PIKEVILLE -- Anne Margaret Thigpen, 61, 102 Baker Drive, died Saturday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Born in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Archie Kade and Annie Belle Little Lane and sister to the late Allen Cade Lane. A member of St. Joseph Methodist Church, she had previously served as area chairperson of the American Heart Association. She was a retired hairdresser of over 25 years, while serving as secretary for Thigpen Pharmacy.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Pikeville Cemetery with her brother, the Rev. Tommy Sherrill Lane, officiating.
She is survived by her husband, Walter Talmage Thigpen; three sons and daughters-in-law, Thigie and Cindy Thigpen, Tony and Lynn Thigpen, Travis and Beth Thigpen; brother, the Rev. Tommy Sherrill Lane of Tampa Fla.; sister, Rose Lane Rackley of Smithfield; grandchildren, Ginger Ann Thigpen, Beth Ann Thigpen, Courtney Lane Thigpen, Victoria Dale Thigpen, and Logan Daniele Grant.
Family members will greet friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
Flowers are welcome and memorial gifts may be directed to the St. Joseph United Methodist Church, Pikeville, N.C., or to the American Cancer Society.
