DANIEL D. HOOPER SR.
Died Feb. 25, 2007
Daniel D. Hooper Sr., 404 Pear St., died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital. He was owner of Carolina Shoe Rebuilders and a member of Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist, where he served as an usher and trustee.
The Robeson County native was a graduate of Hilly Branch High School and Harris Barber College. He was employed as a barber at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base for many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rhebia Hooper; brother, Ralphael; and sisters, Margaret Miles and Ruthel Currie.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Arthur Evans officiating. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park, North.
He is survived by his children, Daniel D. Hooper Jr. and Amanda Hooper Hill, both of Goldsboro; Della Hooper Burrus of Woodbridge, Va.; brother, Thomas Hooper Jr.; sisters, Estella Curry, Coren Weaver; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be 2 to 6 p.m. Friday at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries. The family will receive friends at the residence and will assemble there Saturday morning in preparation for the funeral procession.
