SMITHFIELD--John Cleron "J.C." Higgins, 27, died Friday morning from injuries received in an automobile accident. Born in Johnston County, he was the son of Jerry and Rose Howell Higgins of Smithfield. He was an installer with Interstate Glass Company for the last 8 years. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with the Rev. Joseph Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery. Surviving in addition to his parents are his daughter, Reva Hope Higgins of Four Oaks; sisters, Beverly Ann Creech and Amy Michelle Adams both of Smithfield; and paternal grandmother, Dorothy Lee Higgins of Smithfield. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and at other times at the home of his parents, 4597 Brogden Road, Smithfield, N.C. 27577.
