WILLIAM E. HUDSON

TURKEY -- William Edward Hudson, 70, died Wednesday at his son's home in Clinton. He was born to the late Berteous and Lola Laura Britt Hudson of Sampson County. He was preceded in death by his late wife, Swannie Quinn Hudson; brother, Milton Hudson of Warsaw; sister, Rachel Hudson Herring of Pleasant Hill. Mr. Hudson was a member of the N.C. National Guard and worked with Clinton City Maintenance.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Community Chapel, Community Funeral Home, 309 N. Sycamore St., Rose Hill, with the Rev. Linwood Jones and the Rev. Gary Avery officiating. Burial will follow at Clinton City Cemetery, Clinton.
He is survived by three sons, William and Nathan Hudson, both of Clinton, and Malcom Hudson of Turkey; three sisters, Lossie Hudson Shipp of Clinton, Lola Mae Hudson Bass of Richmond, Va., and Effie Hudson Quinn of Magnolia; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight at Community Funeral Home. Friends and family will be received at other times at the home of Nathan Hudson, 205 Stetson St., Clinton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made for funeral expenses to Community Funeral Home of Warsaw, Inc., P.O. Box 336, Warsaw 28398.
