MOUNT OLIVE -- Roosevelt West Sr., 74, 122 Elizabeth St., died Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
He was a native of Cra-ven County, graduate of Carver High School, Mount Olive, retired Staff Sgt. U. S. Air Force, member of Carver Alumni Associa-tion, member of Payne Temple AME Zion Church, retired after 19 years of employment at AP Parts, Goldsboro, and was a former employee of Burlington in Mount Olive.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Payne Temple AME Zion Church, Mount Olive. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. West was preceded in death by his parents, Leamon Green and Zelphia Harris.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine West of the home; four sons, Roosevelt West Jr. of Goldsboro, Jeffrey West of Forestville, Md., Linwood West Sr. of Mount Olive and Terry West of Goldsboro; two daughters, Iris Clark of Lanham, Md., and Linda Williams of District Heights, Md.; two brothers, Alonzo West of Philadelphia, Pa., and Jaither West of Goldsboro; three sisters, Beulah Luby of Philadelphia, Pa., Vera Hagans of Mount Olive, Nicia Ashford of Dudley; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be Friday at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries, 401 S. Center St., Mount Olive, from 2 to 6 p.m.
