SMITHFIELD -- Douglas Carson Vinson, 53, 4309 Steven Chapel Road, died Wednesday at Durham Regional Medical Center. He is the son of Mary Corbett Vinson and the late Hallie Carlton Vinson. Mr. Vinso n was a self employed carpenter.
Graveside memorial service will be Friday in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Craig Langston officiating. The family will receive friends tonight at the home of his brother, Frankie Vinson at 190 Old Kenly Road, Pikeville.
He is survived by a daughter, Amanda Vinson Price of Goldsboro; a sister, Teresa Jones and husband, Ronnie, of Goldsboro; two brothers, Carlton Vinson and wife, Connie, of Goldsboro and Frankie Vinson and wife, Patsy, of Pikeville, and several nieces and nephews.
