DR. JOSE J. GUIJARRO JR.

Dr. Jose Julio Guijarro Jr., 50, died Thursday as a result of an automobile accident.
Dr. Guijarro was born in Athens, Ga., to Josephine Martinez Guijarro and the late Dr. Jose Julio Guijarro Sr. He was a surgeon with Eastern Carolina Surgical Associates. Dr. Guijarro was a Diplomat of the American Board of Surgeons and was a member of the North Carolina Medical Society, the Wayne County Medical Society, the North Carolina Vascular Society and the Southern Surgical Society. He was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church.
A private mass of Christian burial will be Monday at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Tom Norris, O.S.F.S., officiating. A prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. today at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church. The family will receive friends today following the service.
In addition to his mother, Dr. Guijarro is survived by his daughters, Marisa Josefina Guijarro, Christina Marie Guijarro and Margaret Terese Guijarro, all of the home; his son, Jose Julio Guijarro III, of the home; the mother of his children, Rebecca Guijarro of Goldsboro; his sisters, Lourdes Herbert of Texas, Teresa Broussard and husband, Neal, of Texas and Margarita Lyons and husband, Peter, of Texas; his brothers, Gabriel Guijarro and wife, Sherrell, of Texas, Luis Guijarro of New Hampshire and Carlos Guijarro and wife, Connie, of North Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
