MSGT. (RET.) AARON L. LOFTON

MSgt. (ret.) Aaron Lewis Lofton, age 68, of 258 Edna Lane, died Friday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine Starling Bradshaw Lofton. He was the son of the late Jadie Perry and Hazel Simmons Lofton. He served his country in the United States Air Force for 26 years, where he earned the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal (Army) with two Bronze Loops, AF Longevity Service Ribbon with five devices, the National Defense Service Medal , the Vietnam Service Medal, the AF Presidential Unit Citation, the AF Outstanding Unit Award with four devices, the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with device and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign. After retiring form the Air Force, he worked at Cherry Hospital in Dietary Food Services for 25 years. Mr. Lofton was a member of Sheppard's Chapel Church and SEANC.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with full military honors. The Rev. Gene Turner, Mr. Roland Braswell, and Ms. Kim Bradshaw will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and immediately following the service.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Daryl Lofton of Perry, Ga.; a daughter, Gena Perez of San Antonio, Texas; brothers, Norman Loftin and wife, Frances, of Charlotte and Glenn Lofton and wife, Linda, of Mount Croghan, S.C.; step-sons, Stephen Bradshaw and wife, Kim, of Goldsboro and Donnie Bradshaw of Fremont; and five grandchildren.
A son, Michael Lofton preceded him in death.
