FAISON -- Doris Jean Andrews, 74, 10310 Faison Highway, died Tuesday at her home.
Funeral services will be today at 7 p.m. at Plain View Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Clyde Shelton officiating. Graveside service will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in the church cemetery.
Born in 1932 in Sampson County, she was the daughter of the late Louis William and Janie Barwick Jernigan. She was a lifetime member of Plain View Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church where she served as the pianist for over 45 years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, served as a Sunday School teacher, and held various other positions within the church. She was a salesclerk with Cecil's Shoes of Clinton.
She is survived by her husband: William Kelvin Andrews; a son, Wayne Andrews of Mount Olive; three sisters, Virginia Royal of Southern Pines, Estalene Lindsay of Suttontown and Christine Coble of Fla.; two brothers, the Rev. Ralph Jernigan of Clinton and Charles Jernigan of Clinton; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Andrews
The family will receive friends immediately following funeral services at the church and other times at her home.
