WALTER H. WATTS SR.

Walter Hayes Watts Sr., 82, died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Benjamin and Julia Ada Graham Watts, and his wife, Mildred Watts. Mr. Watts was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II, a member of Cricket Ridge Free Will Baptist Church and was a farmer.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with the Rev. Clyde Shelton and Elbert Howell officiating. Burial will follow in the Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times at 110 Cook Lane, Mount Olive.
He is survived by sons, James Earl Watts of Mount Olive and Walter Watts Jr. of Ayden; daughters, Peggy Dickerson and husband, Glenn, of Mount Olive, Rebecca Outlaw and husband, Carl, of Mount Olive, Molly Watts of the home, and Patsy Gonzales and husband, Speedy, of Clinton; 24 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
