JONATHAN 'JOE' WILLIAMS

KINSTON -- Jonathan "Joe" Williams, 70, died Tuesday. Mr. Williams was born to the late Andrew Pickett and Laura Frances Griffin Williams. He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and worked with DuPont for 30 years. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father who loved talking with people about his faith, helping others and meeting his friends at Bojangles.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Rita Jones Williams; daughters, Donna Mitchell and husband, Douglas, of Winterville, Tina Maria Williams of Greenville; brothers, Allen Williams and wife, Jenine, of Wallace; sisters, Verdie Davis of Richlands, Patricia Cole and husband, Noah, of Beulaville, Julia Quinn and husband, Owen, of Kinston, Jenny Taylor and husband, Gene, of Goldsboro, Mary Bradley and husband, Crudie, of Greenville; and many nieces and nephews and extended family including our Christian brothers and sisters.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses with Nolan Wiggins officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
