Brenda Austin, 46, 2800B McClain St., died Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
She was a native of Wayne County, attended Mount Olive College and Campbell University, was employed by Wayne County Public Schools and the Goldsboro Family Y. Ms. Austin was preceded in death by her father, Norwood Austin Jr.
Funeral service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Central Heights FWB Church, 302 Ervin Drive, Goldsboro, with Dr. Isaac Burnette officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Mill Cemetery.
She is survived by a son, Eddie Williams; mother, Mabel Austin; three brothers, Mikail Wadud, the Rev. George Beary, Norwood Austin, III; sister, Justina Perry.
Viewing will be today at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro from 2 to 6 p.m.
