MARY MODLIN

Mary Armstrong Modlin, 60, of 1540 Arthur Modlin Road, died Friday at Martin General Hospital, Williamston, N.C. She was the daughter of the late Euclid Armstrong Sr., and Annie McSorley Armstrong, and was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church in New Bern. She graduated from East Carolina University in 1972, and had taught spanish and English in several schools. She was married April 14, 1968 to Edwin H. Modlin.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Modlin is survived by three daughters, Nicole M. Braddy and husband, Stephen, of Jamesville, Heather M. Nye and husband, Christopher, of Columbia, S.C., and Maria Christina Modlin, of Greenville; son, Edwin H. Modlin II, of Jamesville; grandchildren, Casey and Phillip Fahey; sisters, Anne Scheimberg of New York, Nancy Spaulding of Skancateles, N.Y., and Rosalee Davidson of Greensboro; brothers, Bill Armstrong of Roswell, N.M., and Michael Armstrong of New Bern. She was preceded in death by a brother, Euclid Armstrong Jr.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 at Biggs Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Adron Modlin and the Rev. Mike Scott. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Visitation was Saturday at Biggs Funeral Home from 7 until 8:30 p.m., and at other times at 1540 Arthur Modlin Road, Jamesville.
