Police investigate a North William Street robbery, assault

Goldsboro police are looking for a man who pistol-whipped the owner of a North William Street convenience store before escaping with a stolen phone and undetermined amount of cash.
The store owner told police that the suspect came into the store around 8:30 p.m. Friday brandishing a handgun.
The suspect struck the man in the head with the gun causing a laceration. He stole the victim's iPhone 6 valued at $500 and some cash. He left the store headed north.
Wayne County EMS carried the victim to the Wayne UNC Health Care Emergency Department.
The suspect is described as a black male who was wearing black pants and a black jacket.
