Forecasts hold; indicate snow will fall Friday

The Weather Channel is predicting a 90 percent likelihood of snow and rain mixing in Goldsboro later this week, as the temperature is expected to drop to 31 degrees F, Friday night.
The figure is up from Monday, when the Weather Channel website, weather.com, showed a 60 percent chance of precipitation Friday evening. The forecast for Saturday shows sunshine and clouds mixed during the day with a high of 46, with partly cloudy skies at night and a low of 27.
The National Weather Service, at weather.gov, shows a 60 percent chance of rain early Friday, with a 50 percent chance of rain and a 50 percent chance of snow as the temperature drops close to 30 Friday night.
Weather Underground, at wunderground.com, shows a 54 percent chance of snow beginning early Sunday morning, and tapering off sharply as the day goes on.
