Police officers used a Taser to stop a female pit bulldog after it charged at them Wednesday afternoon.
According to a Goldsboro Police report, the owner allowed the dog to run loose in the 200 block of Neil Street shortly after 2 p.m.
The report said officers arrived at the scene and saw the dog chasing two men who were driving a lawn mower.
A neighbor of the owner told officers he jumped over a fence to escape from the dog.
The dog then charged two officers, causing them to use a Taser to stop the dog.
According to the report, the Wayne County Animal Control arrived at the scene, and a family member of the owner was able to take the dog inside of the house.
No injuries were listed on the police report.
