Pikeville man is charged in larceny

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office charged a man Sunday for allegedly breaking into a Goldsboro residence that same day.
Michael Christopher Fields, 31, of 109 Clifton Ridge Drive, Pikeville, is charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, possession of stolen goods, two counts larceny of a firearm and two counts possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Fields was given a $50,000 secured bond on the charges.
According to a press release, a Goldsboro resident got home on Sunday and found that his home was broken into.
Wayne County sheriff's deputies conducted a brief investigation before developing Fields as a suspect.
Deputies found Fields a short time later at his home in Pikeville, where they found property that had been stolen from the residence where the break-in was reported.
