A school bus involved in a wreck with another vehicle on Genoa Road and Robin Lake Drive this morning has been evacuated. All students are off the bus.
The wreck happened at about 7 a.m.
The N.C. Highway Patrol is on scene, as are Wayne County EMS, Dudley and Arrington volunteer fire departments and the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
Preliminary reports are that no students were injured, but at least one person has been transported away from the scene by ambulance, presumably to Wayne Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Wayne County Public Schools communications director Ken Derksen confirmed eight Southern Wayne High School students were on the bus at the time of the wreck, none of whom were injured.
A second bus has arrived on scene to transport the students the rest of the way to school.
