The Wayne County Sheriff's Office has released new information on a shooting that left one man injured in Dudley Friday morning.
According to a Sheriff's Office press release, Kelly Sharone Garner, 30, of 103 Scott Circle, is wanted on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon with the intent to kill inflicting serious injury, armed robbery, attempted armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Deputies were dispatched to 161 Cobb Coley Lane Friday, in response to a shooting call. There, they found Omar Vann, 32, who had been shot in the shoulder. He was transported to Wayne Memorial Hospital, where detectives interviewed him.
According to the report, Vann said that he and a friend had gone to 198 Hack Drive in Dudley to look at a truck for sale. The two left after seeing the truck, and then returned a while later.
After returning, Vann went to the door of the residence, where Garner met him at the door with a handgun and demanded money, according to the report. When Vann stepped back to leave, Garner allegedly shot him in the right shoulder.
Vann then ran away, eventually ending up at the Cobb Coley Lane residence. The occupant there called 911, leading to the original dispatch.
According to the report, a witness to the shooting was also robbed at the same time. The witness was sitting in his vehicle at the time Vann was going to the Hack Drive residence, and told officers that two men pulled him out of his car and stole a debit card, ID card and a pack of cigarettes.
