DUDLEY -- A son allegedly stabbed his father in the head with a knife late Thursday night around 9 p.m. in Dudley.
According to Detective Eric Pierce with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, Wayne County sheriff's deputies responded to the call just after 9 p.m. Thursday.
There they found Gilberto Rodriguez Jr., 21, and his father Gilberto Rodriguez Banda, who was suffering from a stab wound to the head, according to a sheriff's office press release.
"We had a domestic disturbance call at 102 Jake Drive, where a subject had stabbed someone in the head with a knife," Pierce said.
Pierce said that Banda's head injury caused by the stabbing was not fatal or serious.
As of just after 12 a.m. today, Rodriguez Jr. was in custody and being taken to the Wayne County jail, Pierce said. Rodriguez Jr. was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or seriously injure, and was placed under a $10,000 secured bond.
Banda was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Authorities do not currently know what led to the altercation between the father and son that resulted in the stabbing.
